Nicole Kidman is opening up on her only regret from her marriage to Tom Cruise.
Nicole has said, “I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don’t regret any of it.” Kidman and Cruise married when she was just 23. “I had two kids by the time I was 27 and I’d been married four years. […] I became famous very young … because I was the wife of somebody.”
Therein lies the issue: Kidman regretted that the bulk of her notoriety was in connection to someone else. “In retrospect, I probably shouldn’t have done a movie with him so quickly. I probably should have done more by myself to be seen independently.”
“I felt I became a star only by association. I didn’t think [my early movies] were very good, which is why I would always cower in the background. I thought I don’t deserve to be here. We would go to the Oscars and I would think, ‘I’m here to support him.’”
While Kidman’s career would take on an enormity of it’s own, their work together was well-received, but not catalysis to her career.
