Oprah Winfrey is discussing the details behind her recent weight loss.
While striking the red carpet at the recent The Color Purple world premier on Wednesday, Oprah spoke with Entertainment Tonight.
“It’s not one thing, it’s everything,” Winfrey, 69, told Entertainment Tonight. “I intend to keep it that way,” she said, adding, “I was on that treadmill today.”
Winfrey is serving as an executive producer on the recent production of The Color Purple and this isn’t her first time appearing at a premiere for the 1985 film. Winfrey recounted the 1985 premiere night to ET.
“David Letterman was escorting me across the street, and I remember that it was a really big night,” Winfrey recalled. “Tina Turner was there, and Sidney Poitier was there, and, you know, they’re no longer with us, but it was really, really important and I’ll never forget it.”
In September, Winfrey spoke up about the obesity crisis and her own weight.
“You all know I’ve been on this journey for most of my life,” she told those in attendance at her panel, “The Life You Want Class: The State of Weight.”
“My highest weight was 237 lbs. I don’t know if there is another public person whose weight struggle has been exploited as much as mine over the years.”
“You all have watched me diet and diet and diet,” she continued, before noting that it’s “a recurring thing because my body always seems to want to go back to a certain weight.”
