The Presley family tree is extending once again! Riley Keough is expecting a second baby with husband Ben Smith-Petersen. Closer Weekly confirmed the news. Keough and Smith-Peterson already have a one year old daughter, Tupelo Storm, who they welcomed last year. The couple named their daughter after the hometown where Keough’s grandfather, Elvis Presley, was born.
Presley died in 1977 and was found in the Graceland mansion which Keough has spoken highly of before. Keough said that she and her husband had picked out the name before the hit Elvis movie dropped in 2022 and specifically chose it because it didn’t have any prominent association with the Presley family.
“Then when the Elvis movie came out, it was like, Tupelo this and Tupelo that. I was like, ‘Oh, no,’” adding, “But it’s fine.” Keough told Vanity Fair.
The couple announced that they would be expecting their first child at Lisa Marie’s memorial service in Graceland. Lisa Marie Presley passed away on January 12 at the age of 54 after a complication occurred in her small bowel.
During the ceremony, Ben delivered a speech on behalf of his wife. “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” he said at the time. “Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart, my brother is a product of your heart.”
Smith-Petersen and Keough have not yet spoken out about their second child.
