Shania Twain is addressing a harrowing experience she had after slipping and falling on stage mid-performance. Following the concert Twain was quick to send out a tweet that seemingly poked fun at what might be considered an embarrassing moment. “I did stick the landing though 😉” Twain shared.
Fans quickly rallied around Twain following the incident making sure to show love and support to the country queen. Users commented, “Hooray Chicago! You show the world what a true pro you are as you turn a pratfall into a harmonious recovery. I also loved how you giggled too,” and “Of course you still put on a great show even while on your butt!”
However, Twain’s fall might be cause for concern as the country singer has a history with Lyme disease. In her Netflix documentary, Twain shared her feelings about the diagnosis and how it impacted her life.
“Before I was diagnosed, I was on stage very dizzy,” Twain said in the documentary titled Not Just a Girl. “I was losing my balance, I was afraid I was gonna fall off the stage…I was having these very, very, very millisecond blackouts, but regularly, every minute or every 30 seconds.”
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that can be spread to humans by infected ticks. Symptoms can include headaches, tiredness, muscle and joint pain and loss of energy. A tick bite may look like a tiny, itchy bump on your skin, much like a mosquito bite. To help prevent the disease people who live in wooded areas are encouraged to use tick repellent, dress for protection, and check for ticks after being outside.
