Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne are taking an ultimate step towards sealing their love for one another. In a vulnerable episode of ‘The Osbournes Podcast,’ the couple revealed that if one of them were begin to suffer from Alzheimer’s disease they would take the ultimate step of assisted suicide together. Alzheimer’s disease is a condition by which someone suffers severe cognitive function strong enough to interfere with everyday tasks.
In her 2007 memoir Survivor: My Story – The Next Chapter, Sharon revealed her struggle with her father’s Alzheimer’s. Due to the genetic disposition Sharon and Ozzy have agreed that they would want to be “put out of their misery.”
“Ozzy and I have absolutely come to the same decision. We believe 100 per cent in euthanasia so have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it – we’d be off.”
“We gathered the kids around the kitchen table, told them our wishes and they’ve all agreed to go with it.”
“I saw my father suffer from the day he came back into my life in 2002 to the day he died in July. There’s no way I could go through what he did, or put my kids through that,” Sharon wrote in her tell all memoir.
The Osbournes Podcast premiered its first season 2 episode on Thursday after a five-year hiatus.
