Sharon Stone is mourning the loss of her younger brother, Patrick, who died suddenly on Sunday from a cardiac related death due to heart disease. He was 57.
Family members, including Sharon and Patrick’s wife, Tasha, have taken to social media to both confirm and pay tribute to the tragic loss of their cherished loved one.
Sharon posted an emotional video on Instagram thanking fans for their support and expressing her grief in this dire circumstance.
“Hello, everybody. This message is to confirm that yes, we did lose my brother Patrick Joseph Stone to a heart attack [Sunday],” she said in the video. “Yes, he is the man who was the father to River, who we lost last year at 11 months old. He is survived by his wife, Tasha, and his son, Hunter, and his daughter, Kaylee.”
In August, 2021, River Stone, Patrick’s son and Sharon’s godson, died from total organ failure at just 11 months old. River was found in his crib and was taken to the hospital before being pronounced dead just days later.
The family found solace in the fact that River’s organs went on to be donated to three others, two babies and a 45-year-old man, saving their lives and bringing “salvation” to their families in the light of River’s passing.
“Like any family, we thank you for your love and support in this time of immeasurable grief and we appreciate all of your condolences,” she continued in the Instagram video posted on Monday. “Yes, we’ve had a tremendous amount of loss in these last couple of years, as so many of you also have. And we do greatly understand that the losses are ours here on Earth, and I thank you very much for the love and support that you’re showing us. And we just ask you to continue to be kind. Thank you.”
Fellow Hollywood colleagues shared their condolences in the comment section of the video.
John Travolta wrote, “Dearest Sharon, I’m so sorry for your loss. I do understand very well what you’re going through. With love -JT.”
Other celebrities, like Sharon Osbourne and Elizabeth Banks, commented that they were “sending love”.
Patrick’s wife, Tasha, posted a lengthy message on Facebook honoring her loving husband.
“My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest,” she wrote. “Patrick went to be with our sweet River around 3:30 this morning. I don’t know what else to say, he was my world. He was the biggest pain in the ass with the biggest [heart] of anyone I know. He gave me 3 beautiful children that he loved and adored.
“Until we meet again I will forever hold you and our wonderful (and some not so wonderful but just as important) memories close to my heart and will visit those memories always,” she continued. “I love you honey babe. My wish through all of this is that now at least River has his daddy with him and I hope the two of you are having the best time. Please give him the biggest hug and kiss from all of us and keep him out of mischief.
“I‘m not ready and I don’t want to say goodbye,” she ended her message. “I want to do this life with you. I’ll always love you. -Your brown eyed girl.”
Our deepest condolences go out to the Stone family, as surely they were still working through the grief of losing River. May they find peace in knowing that the beloved father and son have reunited and are looking after their family here on Earth.
