Here are some signs to watch out for that can mean your ex misses you.
They Start Liking Your Photos and Posts on Social Media
It is easier today to know if an ex is still checking up on you. You can see if they keep liking your photos and posts, which is a sign that they miss seeing you. It takes effort to look through someone’s photos that you use to have a connection with. It is a clear sign they miss you if they start liking old photos too. You Notice Them Trying to Make You Jealous
If an ex is trying to get your attention because they miss you, a way they can try to do this is by making you jealous. It can be through social media, or by showing off they are seeing someone new. If they are making an effort for you to see how well they’re doing, they could be missing your validation. If these things start to make you jealous, Robert L. Leahy, Ph.D., suggests taking a moment, breathe slowly, and observe your thoughts and feelings. Jealous feelings are not something you have to deal with anymore since you two are no longer in a relationship.
You Run Into Each Other Often
When you are out at places you usually go, and strangely you keep running into your ex suddenly, it can mean that they are trying to see you. They want to see you and talk to you, which is a subtle sign that they miss you. It can even be that they are not over you yet and are trying to get your attention being at the places you usually go. But not matter if you think it is a sign to get back together it may not. A study published in 2013 in PLOS One, found that “breakup distress may act as a catalyst for personal growth,” while avoiding it may inhibit the development process. So, it is best to be friendly when you see them but move on.
They Joke About Missing You but Mean It
Sometimes when you do talk to an ex, they can joke around and say that they miss you, and it could actually be true. According to author Nicky Curtis, through her experience, she believes that if an ex is always jokingly telling you that they miss you, they are probably not joking. It is a subtle way of not making it too obvious that they miss you in their life like you once were.
