Suzanne Somers’ widower, Alan Hamel, is opening up about the surprising piece of clothing she was buried wearing.
While Hamel joked that Somers owned “every Manolo Blahnik ever made,” it would “have been predictable but not very personal” to be “wearing [Manolo Blahniks] for her final trip”.
Somers was a seasoned hiker, despite “never really had boots designed for hiking on the rocks”. Hamel ” ordered the Timberland boots” that she would eventually be buried in.
“[I] made my gift personal by drawing on them in a few words that represented our life to some degree and made them very personal to Suzanne,” he went on, remembering that “every time she put on the Timberlands, she said, ‘I am wearing you, and my boots will keep me safe’”.
