Taylor Swift has donated $1 million to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, after tornadoes killed six people, including a 10-year-old boy, near her high school alma mater.
The CEO of the Community Foundation, Hal Cato, said her donation will “support the immediate and long-term recovery needs” of the region.
Of the six victims, the youngest was Arlan Burnham, who was removed from the wreckage of his home along with his sister by a neighbor. Unfortunately, Arlan succumbed to his injuries. His mother, Katherine, said:
“My beautiful baby boy, Arlan, did not make it out of the house. Kyle and I are not okay. We don’t know how to navigate through this. We have no idea what is next. Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love and adore my kids, all kids really. I can not put into words how absolutely devastated I am.”
