Taylor Swift is providing a $55 million bonus program to the staff members who worked on her ‘Eras’ tour. Bonuses went to essential crew members, with a stunning $100,000 bonus to each of her truck drivers.
The news was confirmed on LinkedIn by Shomotion, the logistics company in charge of her ground transportation. Michael Scherkenbach, the company’s founder, wrote, “When [Taylor’s father] Scott Swift called the Shomotion LLC steel / stage drivers in for a meeting, this was the last thing they expected – THANK YOU! Words cannot express our gratitude for your appreciation, recognition and generosity!”
“Her father was the one that actually presented the checks to our drivers,” Scherkenbach told TODAY. “And he presented handwritten letters from Taylor. It’s incredible that they would take that time, and what it means to our staff to be recognized.”
The handwritten letters may be an additional bonus, in and of themselves, if Swift signed each letter.
Swift also donated an undisclosed amount to the Second Harvest Food Bank in California.
