No need to freak out, Taylor and Travis are not over.
No, Travis did not skip Taylor’s most recent birthday bash in New York. PEOPLE says that the Kansas City Chiefs star had to keep himself in Kansas ahead of a game against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Many anticipated that Kelce would be in attendance at whatever birthday party would be thrown for the Eras star who turned 34 this past Wednesday.
Sources close to Swift and Kelce affirmed to PEOPLE that the couple, while infatuated with one another, is committed to their individual careers. Sources even added that the pair celebrated Swift’s birthday at a holiday party on Sunday in Kansas City.
Rumors of Kelce and Swift’s relationship first started when the NFL star was seen attending a Eras tour date in July of this summer. Later while on a podcast hosted with his Eagles player brother Jason Kelce, Travis revealed he tried, but did not succeed, in trying to give Taylor his phone number.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Kelce said.
“If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets, and I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”
At the holiday party the couple was seen passing kisses to one another in group photos amongst smiles and friends.
“He is a gentleman,” a source told PEOPLE of the NFL star last month. “He is very focused on his career. He has a great relationship with his family. He has an amazing energy and approach to life.”
