In 1975, Priscilla Presley begins dating Robert Kardashian, after Kardashian had a marriage proposal rejected by his future bride, Kris Jenner. In 1976, both couples break up, and Robert Kardashian and Kris Jenner rekindle their romance. Just a few years later, in 1981, Elvis’ ex, Linda Thompson, begins dating the Olympic medalist, Caitlyn Jenner. Their marriage would last until 1986. Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian would then divorce in 1991, the same year Kris would marry Caitlyn Jenner.

It seems like Elvis and Priscilla left a bigger impact on the American culture than we may have expected! There might be no “first family of reality television”, had Priscilla Presley have accepted Robert Kardashian’s proposal. Insiders to the Presley family give conflicting reports for what exactly drew the lovers apart, with one claiming it was Kardashian’s insistence that Presley change for him, and another claiming that Presley told her then-boyfriend, “Look, I’m not going to marry anyone until Elvis dies”.
