Maria Acevedo Valdez received a wonderful early Christmas present, after she won $1 million in the Massechusetts Lottery.
Valdez says that she purchased the ticket while buying her morning coffee on her way to work. She opted to buy a $20 scratch-off ticket and won $1 million. She decided to take the money in a lump sum of about $650,000.
Valdez is “thankful and blessed” that she will be able to help her family with the cash. Additionally, the store which sold the winning ticket will receive $10,000.
