On Friday, Wynonna Judd performed in Dayton, Ohio, and had to pause the show mid-way through because she started to feel a little dizzy.
In a video from the concert, the “Tell Me Why” singer stops singing and calls for help from a stage crew worker.
“Hang on a second. I am really dizzy. Could somebody come up here please?” she said while gripping the microphone.
“I’m really dehydrated and I’m having a hard time, so hang on a second,” she said as assistance came on stage. “This has never happened before, so of course it would happen in Ohio.”
She decided to continue the show, joking with the crowd, “If I faint, just take a lot of pictures,” before continuing her song, “Mama He’s Crazy”.
As she sang, someone else from backstage brought her a stool, but she rejected it, interrupting her song to say, “Screw the stool. I’m going down big.”
She paused one more time to say, “Okay, hold on,” before the video ends.
Judd decided to use the stool and proceeded to finish the show. Afterwards, fans expressed their concern for her, to which she reassured that she was okay via an Instagram post on Monday.
“All is well, y’all. @littlebigtown and @martinamcbride, you are SUCH a blessing to me,” she captioned a photo of her singing on stage. “Thank you for holding me up, literally and figuratively! ❤️”
Wynonna’s tour, “The Judds: The Final Tour”, was postponed last year after her mother and bandmate, Naomi Judd, died by suicide in April. Wynonna ultimately decided to continue on the tour in honor of her late mother, and split the tour between two runs; one that concluded last fall, and the other which started in January and ends later this month in Hollywood, FL.
In January she talked to ET about how she sees the continuation of the tour being something that carries on her mother’s legacy through music and love.
“It’s painful,” she said. “But the music, the music is what remains. Just like love. The music that comes from such a deep place in here [gesturing her heart], comes out through here [gesturing her mouth], and into the audience, and they just feel it.”
Touring alongside Judd are various country acts, including Martina McBride, Little Big Town, Ashley McBryde, Kelsea Ballerini, Tanya Tucker, and Brandi Carlile.
